Directions
Just over a mile from the top of the town on the A689 Nenthead / Durham road. White house visible from the road, on the right opposite the road to Blagill.
Facilities
Access and Parking: Up a short track which looks quite rough but is O.K if you take it slowly, room to turn around and park at the top or park on the roadside. Not suitable for wheelchairs.Toilet upstairs.
Other Attractions
There is a really nice walk from Gossipgate Gallery along the river. Follow the footpath signs and keep the river on your left. When you reach the bridge turn right onto the road and it will bring you out onto the A689 opposite Whitewell Farm.
Sue Sharp's handmade pottery is decorated with brightly coloured slip on a white earthenware clay body, fired to 1140c for a hardwearing, dishwasher proof finish. The work ranges from mugs, bowls, plates, jugs, tiles etc. to larger "one-offs", such as big curved platters and wall hung pieces.
Workshops and Commissions
Although I am mainly involved with producing my own work, 3 or 4 times a year, I also run workshops for schools and community groups. These can be as diverse as "drop in" clay modelling sessions, or 100ft sq. ceramic murals. http://www.alstoncraftworkers.co.uk/html/communityschoolprojects.htm
