ABOUT THE HUB

The Hub is run by volunteer members of the charitable organisation, Alston Goods Shed Trust.

It all began as a 3-day event in 2001 and just kept on running, such was the enthusiasm of its members and the sheer volume of historical artefacts so generously loaned or doanted by the people of Alson Moor. The old goods shed seemed the natural place in which to gather together these items under one roof.

The old goods shed was the centre of Alson Moor's transport links to the industrial heartlands of Britain, and played a vital role in the development of the lead mining industry. It also played host to many famous steam engines which were hidden from Nazi bombers during the war.
